in partnership with AITPM Queensland Branch and Engineers Australia (Transport Panel) invite you to a joint dinner presentation on the latest in ITS research and technology, culminating in a keynote address on the emerging National ITS Strategy.

Dr Norm Pidgeon: Norm is a Principal with the Nous Group, a consultancy specialising in strategy, Dr Norm Pidgeon technology management and organisation change. He has over 30 years experience in technology management and consulting and is also President of ITS Australia. In this leadership role, Norm will provide a keynote presentation overviewing the key outcomes of the 2009 ITS Summit, how a national ITS strategy is shaping up, and what these mean for local practitioners looking forward.

Dr Paul Higgins: Paul is the Managing Director of Excel Technology Group, which under his direction has designed and developed approximately 30 intelligent transport products. In recent years Paul has mentored numerous QUT and UQ undergraduate /post graduate research students in the research and development of a range of ITS applications. Paul will discuss his experiences and rewards of "giving back" to the technical community through his mentoring work, his entrepreneurial engineering studies at MIT (Boston, USA) and provide a snapshot of future research directions in traffic technology and ITS.Dr Paul Higgins

John Humphreys: John is Managing Director of the Global Innovation Centre and Chair of the InterimSteering Committee of the AusDSRC (Australian Dedicated Short Range Communications) Cluster. The Australian DSRC Cluster is an industry-led organisation involving all road safety and transport efficiency stakeholders. Its general objective is to promote, coordinate and support the research, development, deployment and use of collaborative wireless vehicle communication systems in Australia. John will provide an update on the current initiatives of AusDSRC
